Power

Power:

1. the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way

2. the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of events

I believe we all want to have power. We want the ability to control certain things. We want to have influence over events and things that happen to us. We sometimes even desire to have power over things that we struggles with, it may not be physical things but it can also be things like anger, sadness, worthlessness, love etc.

Its nice to have power but it also not nice to feel powerless. The solution to this dilemma is God. In order to be powerful we need to first become powerless. God allows us to feel powerless so that we can go to him to give us power. He is the only one who is all powerful or omnipotent. He has power over everything. The only power He gave us is CHOICE. we either choose Him or not. If we choose Him we become powerful since He gives us power. If we do not choose him we have temporary power.

Thank you Lord Jesus for giving us power. This week I want to encourage you to give thanks to God for the power He has given you. If you need power over anything ask Him and back off to allow Him to show His power through you.

At the same time don't let power get into your "head" (puff you up) remember what happened to Samson and Lucifer

Fear is very cunning. I believe this is an enemy to mankind. We can believe all we want in our minds that we have no fear, however it goes beyond that. Believing in just in your mind is not enough. We have to believe in our heart. Take a moment and trully search your heart. If you have fear about something acknowledged it. Behold a New Thing

The Lord continually wants to show us new things in our lives. He is not a static God. He wants our lives to improve. He wants us to mature and if we are not careful we miss Him and become stagnant. What is the new thing that God wants to do in your life? Talk to him and find out directly from Him. Do not look at the new things that are happening around you and just join because remember the majority is not always right. If you feel stagnant, make a change, don’t allow yourself to be boxed up, be brave and make that change. After making that change be careful not to move backwards ask God to give you the strength to move forward. The way you used to do things before will definitely try to pull you back. If you think you made a mistake and did not hear God then by all means admit you were wrong and seek God for your next step. Angry Unhappy Christians

Unfortunately its true, we do have angry and unhappy Christians. I always wonder why its like that. God promises us joy, peace and happiness and yet we still have a lot of angry unhappy Christians. I believe it’s time we re-evaluate our Christianity. Christianity is not supposed to be a bondage and a burden. It’s supposed to give us life in abundance. , We have a people who are Christians out of duty and not out of a free will and love for God. People are just afraid of going to hell and they are teaching other people fear and bondage instead of love and freedom. Bondage brings hatred, anger and unhappiness. It saddens me to see my brethren suffering and not enjoying Christianity. This week I encourage you to lighten up and stop judging everyone that comes your way. This week I encourage you to let go and let God be . Lets re-evaluate our Christianity, why are we Christians?
